Cockroaches

There are over 4000 species of cockroaches, however the most common species include the German cockroach, American cockroach, Oriental cockroach and Brown Banded cockroach.

Cockroaches are known for picking up the pathogens and bacteria from filthy environments on their legs and bodies, and spreading those pathogens directly to our foods and other surfaces on which they walk, which can lead to various illnesses and allergic reactions, and trigger asthma attacks.

Some of the infections that may be caused by cockroaches and the organisms they carry are:
Salmonellosis
Typhoid Fever
Cholera
Gastroenteritis
Dysentery
Leprosy
Plague
Campylobacteriosis
Listeriosis
Giardia

Taking into consideration that cockroaches are super fast, can squeeze through the tiniest cracks and crevices, eat almost anything (including their dead comrades), and can survive up to a week without a head, this makes DIY solutions especially fruitless, and a professional should be called to deal with the issue promptly.

Leaving a cockroach infestation to multiply may be especially problem some and costly in the long run, as multiple treatments may be needed to successfully eradicate severe infestations.
